How to know that your car is a classic? You can check the following:
• Look for the vehicle identification number (VIN), which is located on the frame.
• Check the paint color. If it’s faded, chances are that it’s an older model. Vehicles are often repainted, and this can make them look newer than they actually are.
• Check the condition of the leather seats and upholstery. This is a great way to tell if your vehicle is really old; if it looks good, then it’s probably new. If your seats look like they have been through a war, then you know that your car has been around for a while.
• Look for an “S” or “M” on your dash board and in your headlights to see if there was an engine swap at some point in its lifespan.
• Check out all of the chrome trim pieces around windows and mirrors and ensure that they look like they belong there. Chrome trim pieces should be bright, shiny and clean otherwise, this could mean that someone has installed them themselves or that they were added later by someone who didn’t know what he or she was doing.
